Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Manage continuing education courses and programs that meet the needs of the regional community, business and industry. Work with business and industry, private and public high schools, and the community at-large to assess workforce development needs, personal enrichment interests, and career pathway needs. Develop programs in terms of curriculum, industry certifications, faculty hiring and supervision, marketing, promotion, program outreach, budget planning, course scheduling, student advising, equipment/supplies ordering, inventory control, and articulation options into existing College certificates and Associate degrees.

Interface with or serve on local, community and regional workforce, education, government and other related professional boards or associations to ascertain educational or skill training needs and represent the Division of Continuing Education and Off-Campus Programs. Conduct presentations to schools, business and industry, professional associations and the community to increase awareness and promote continuing education programs of study offered. Develop standard operating procedures, policies and related requirements for programs managed. Apply for and manage private, state, federal and foundation related grants.

Prepare reports related to program enrollments, contact hours, revenues, expenses, state and federal reports, grants, faculty satisfaction surveys, staffing reports and other reports as requested by the Director of Continuing Education. Provide faculty and staff orientations and professional development training. Work collaboratively with College faculty, program chairs, deans, student services staff, business and registration office staff, continuing education staff and others to plan, develop and deliver continuing education programs of study.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree AND five (5) years experience working in a college, university, governmental, non-profit, corporate, or business setting.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university ANDthree (3) years experience working in a college, university, governmental, non-profit, corporate, or business setting.

Ability to promote and market educational programming to business and industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.

Higher education experience.

Experience developing curriculum and aligning it with state, local and federal regulations.

Experience developing and teaching lessons in a variety of fields.

Work with business & industry, private and public high schools and the community at-large to assesses workforce development needs and develop educational programming as needed.

Develop course curriculum/class schedules, review industry certifications for new training programs and courses by utilizing WECM and THECB guidelines, regulations and requirements.

Recruit, hire, supervise training instructors, approve payroll, provide training in the preparation of course documentation and submission of grades.

Assist in the preparation of program budgets, manage program expenditures, order equipment/supplies with approved budget throughout the year.

Develops and implements marketing, promotional, and outreach strategies to attract and retain students and adjunct instructors.

Advise students by appointments, walk-ins, email, and phone calls and make recommendations for courses based on their career plans.
