    Description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Program Manager (Azure Pricing & Launch Operations) for our client, a Fortune 50 technology leader and intelligent cloud leader. This fully remote role hands-on role sits within the Cloud Marketing organization and supports the operational execution of Azure region launches and the pricing actions that enable Azure consumption and revenue growth. The Program Manager will analyze data using SQL, KQL, and advanced Excel, translate approved pricing decisions into execution artifacts, validate system outputs, and drive launches through submission while coordinating across Engineering, Business Planning, Commerce, Finance, and Operations. This is an opportunity to own meaningful work at the center of Azure pricing and launch operations while helping improve the tools, processes, automation, and operating model that support a large-scale cloud business.

    Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

    1. Advanced Excel and data analysis – 3+ years of hands-on experience using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, ad-hoc analysis, trackers, reporting views, and dashboards to analyze operational data, compare pricing, and reconcile system outputs.
    2. SQL and KQL – 2+ years of experience independently writing queries to extract, join, and analyze data from internal repositories without relying on engineering teams to prepare the data.
    3. MLC, MLC 2.0, Partner Center, and Cayman – 3+ years of hands-on experience with pricing, commerce, or launch execution tooling, including creating and managing execution artifacts and troubleshooting system outputs.
    4. Program and launch operations – 3+ years managing complex cross-functional processes with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, milestones, and deadlines from intake through delivery.

    Opportunity Overview:

This role offers significant ownership and direct exposure to Azure pricing and region launch operations. The contractor will work across the full execution lifecycle—from analyzing the data behind a pricing decision, to creating LRTs and MLC cards, to validating changes in Partner Center and driving each item through submission. The role combines data analysis, technical problem solving, program management, and operational execution, while providing direct exposure to Engineering, Business Planning, Commerce, Finance, Operations, and Launch Leader teams. The team is also actively evolving its operating model through MLC 2.0, automation, process redesign, and operational governance improvements, giving the contractor an opportunity to improve how the work gets done rather than simply execute established processes.

How you will make an impact:

    • Own the end-to-end execution of Azure region launches and associated pricing actions across multiple active launches.
    • Extract and analyze pricing and region information using SQL and KQL, then perform ad-hoc analysis in Excel to identify insights that enable pricing and launch decisions.
    • Translate approved pricing intent into required analytical and execution formats through LRT creation and validation.
    • Create MLC cards, complete required fields, and drive items through the MLC and MLC 2.0 processes.
    • Manage change requests through execution, tracking status and proactively following up on dependencies and blockers.
    • Validate Partner Center change summaries and pricing outputs against the original pricing intent and established pricing principles.
    • Triage errors generated by Partner Center, identify underlying causes, and correct inputs rather than simply working around symptoms.
    • Confirm pricing changes flow through correctly without regression to existing prices, offers, or regions.
    • Maintain launch milestones, dependencies, MLC records, LRTs, tracking tools, and status reports.
    • Coordinate directly with Business Planners, Launch Leader teams, Commerce Engineering, CMX stakeholders, Finance, Operations, and other downstream teams.
    • Attend daily scrums, triage incoming requests and system errors, progress active LRTs and MLC cards, and manage the validation queue.
    • Provide weekly launch reviews, stakeholder syncs, tracker updates, and status reporting.
    • Identify operational risks early and propose mitigation strategies before launch dates are affected.
    • Contribute to process improvements, automation opportunities, operational governance, and initiatives designed to make launch operations more scalable and efficient.

    The expertise you bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
    • 5–7 years of professional experience preferred, with relevant experience in program management, business operations, launch operations, region or product operations, pricing operations, or a similar operational role.
    • 3+ years of advanced, hands-on Excel experience, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and ad-hoc analysis across large operational data sets.
    • 2+ years of experience writing and using SQL and KQL queries independently for data extraction, analysis, and troubleshooting.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with MLC, MLC 2.0, Partner Center, Cayman, or closely related pricing, commerce, or launch execution systems.
    • Experience managing complex cross-functional processes involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies, milestones, and deadlines.
    • Experience executing high-volume operational workflows while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain analysis, proposals, findings, and status to stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and drive work to completion without close supervision.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational execution.
    • Experience with reporting tools, dashboards, project tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
    • PMI or PMP certification preferred.
    • Experience in a large enterprise, PMO, commerce, business operations, consulting, or project management environment is highly valued.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

The strongest candidates combine analytical depth with operational ownership. They are comfortable writing their own SQL and KQL queries, working extensively in Excel, investigating system behavior, and spotting discrepancies before they reach the market. Experience with MLC, MLC 2.0, Partner Center, and Cayman allows a candidate to become productive quickly because they already understand how these systems behave, where they can break, and how to move an item from intake through submission. Successful candidates are proactive, highly detail-oriented, comfortable working across teams without direct authority, and naturally look for ways to automate manual work, improve processes, reduce risk, and make launch operations more scalable.
