Job Description:

Program Management - Program Manager III

Location: Menlo Park, California (Remote)

Employment Type: Contract

Compensation: $65 - $75 hourly

Role Overview

The main function of a non-IT program manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in fields such as engineering, research and development, financial systems, and product roll-out. This role is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional programs from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery and execution across multiple interdependent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs from initiation to closure, collaborating with executive stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Drive progress and ensure on-time delivery across multiple interdependent projects, proactively managing dependencies and risks using tailored project management methodologies.
  • Track and report project health with dynamic dashboards and KPIs, providing clear insights on progress, resources, budget, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of program data through validation, troubleshooting, and resolution of data issues to support reliable decision-making.
  • Manage follow-ups, dependencies, and action items across teams independently, holding owners accountable and driving closure on critical tasks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners, managing expectations, communicating program status, and facilitating alignment for successful outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field.

Experience: 5 - 7 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs from initiation to closure.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI or PMP certification is preferred.
