Job Summary

Do you have the energy, rhythm, and creativity to get kids moving? The North Kirkland Community Center is looking for a fun and inspiring Hip Hop Instructor to lead dance classes for ages 5-11!

What Youll Do:

  • Plan and teach upbeat, age-appropriate hip hop classes
  • Create a safe, fun, and inclusive class environment
  • Communicate effectively with both kids and parents
  • Encourage confidence, coordination, and creativity through dance

What You Bring:

  • Solid knowledge of hip hop and youth dance styles
  • Creative, flexible teaching style
  • Experience working with children ages 5-11
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication skills are required.
  • Ability to interact courteously with the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software.

Qualifications

  • Must have 6 months of related teaching experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.
  • Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Work is performed in a community center setting, with high levels of noise. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks.
