Job title: Program Director, Taconic Job location: Bedford Hills, New York Job type: Full-time Exempt Minimum Experience: Mid-level Reports To: Senior Director of Justice Services Salary: $72,092.80 Job Summary: Hour Children (HC) is an organization founded to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children successfully rejoin the community, reunify with their families, and build healthy, independent, and secure lives. With the support of HC staff who are employed within the correctional facility that serve women in New York State (NYS) Taconic Correctional Facility, the Director is responsible for oversight and programs for all aspects of the Family Service Programs below: - Visitation and Transportation
- Teen/Pre-Teen Program
- Parenting Education
- Advocacy/Volunteer Program
Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversees and coordinates family services programming for women who are incarcerated and their family members including monitoring enrollment of women in classes, use of the parenting center, ensuring curriculum use are updated, develop strategies for continued client and family engagement
- Acts as an advocate and liaison for Hour Children at the prison to maximize success and provide opportunities for incarcerated women engagement into HC services.
- Develop and implement marketing plans, new courses, and continued programming for the women and families which are agreed upon with NYS department of Corrections and Community Services.
- Working with finance team to develop, manage, and maximize budgets to ensure costs are efficiently meet program and revenue goals, where appropriate
- Recruit, assign, support and supervise staff and individuals who are incarcerated including onboarding and training
- Administer annual performance reviews
- Review staffing patterns and roles to ensure they are consistent with program needs
- Work with program manager (assistant) and other staff to supervise and coordinate volunteer services
- Collect program data, analyze, and report outcomes and results
- Collaborate with other Program Directors, Development and Finance to further program and organizational goals
- Ensure program compliance with all laws and organizational policies.
- Update and implement policies and procedures for the various programs as needed
- Comply with DOCCS’s policies and procedures.
- Onboard volunteers
- Serve as a liaison between Hour Children and the other organizations or leaders in the sector to grow and strengthen Hour Children’s reach and impact
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
