Program Director I, Taking Stock in Children

Position Summary:

Develops, organizes, and implements a high quality initiative for Taking Stock in Children.

This role focuses on mentor/volunteer recruitment and fundraising as well.

Essential Functions:

• Provide strategic leadership and direct oversight of the Take Stock in Children (TSIC) program, ensuring compliance with YMCA, TSIC, Department of Education, grant, and organizational requirements.

• Manage a caseload of TSIC students by monitoring academic progress, attendance, behavior, scholarship requirements, and post-secondary success while providing intervention, coaching, and support.

• Deliver college readiness and career preparation services, including FAFSA assistance, scholarship guidance, college application support, SAT/ACT preparation, career exploration, and persistence coaching. Utilize available state-provided virtual resources to enhance and expand student access to these services.

• Lead mentor recruitment, screening, training, matching, support, recognition, and retention.

• Oversee student recruitment, selection, enrollment, scholarship administration, and program participation.

• Develop partnerships with schools, colleges, community organizations, donors, and stakeholders.

• Serve as staff liaison to the TSIC Advisory Board by coordinating meetings, agendas, reports, and board initiatives.

• Partner with YMCA leadership and the Advisory Board to lead fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsorships, grants, and special events.

• Maintain all program data, reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements

• Analyze program outcomes and implement continuous quality improvements.

• Plan and oversee student, mentor, community, and fundraising events.

• Develop and administer the program budget and ensure fiscal stewardship.

• Recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate staff, interns, and volunteers.

• Represent the YMCA and TSIC throughout the community.

• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, Child Abuse Prevention standards, and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

2. Must have excellent written, verbal and emotional communication skills.

3. Understanding of the needs and capabilities of low-income families.

4. Willing to build strong relationships with local, state and federal higher education initiatives as well as an understanding of the Florida Legislature (especially the Pre K- 12 Appropriations Committee).

5. Ready to learn and understand Clay County School System (including policies and procedures, school initiatives and significant dates and deadlines).

6. Must have ability to prioritize duties in order to meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

7. Must be self-motivated.

8. Should have local knowledge of the community in question.
