Beyond Toxics is a statewide environmental justice nonprofit dedicated to fostering a community-driven movement for clean air, safe water, and healthy, resilient communities. Committed to principles of equity, collaboration, and centering frontline communities in environmental policy, we operate statewide to hold polluters accountable, promote innovative climate justice initiatives, enhance public health protections, and support communities most impacted by environmental challenges.
We are a dedicated team of 11 staff members in the process of negotiating a progressive union contract, working within a dynamic, values-based environment. We emphasize an organizational culture founded on principles of continuous learning, transparency, compassion, and accountability.
Position Overview:
The Program Director provides strategic leadership, operational management, and hands-on oversight of Beyond Toxics' environmental justice programmatic portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director oversees a team of ___ program staff and serves as a key member of the organization's leadership team.
The ideal candidate brings a deep experience in environmental justice, policy and advocacy, lobbying, community organizing, or related fields; a track record of effective staff supervision; and the ability to manage complex, multi-funder programs while maintaining strong external relationships and coalition representation.

Work Environment
Beyond Toxics is dedicated to providing a flexible hybrid work environment. Our office is located in Eugene, Oregon, and all employees are offered a hybrid schedule, typically working three days per week in the office and two days remotely, with the flexibility to adjust as needed. The open office layout fosters collaboration and encourages effective communication among team members.

Beyond Toxics offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. The organization provides five employer-sponsored medical plans, including vision coverage, through Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Dental insurance is also available through Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Employees are eligible for health benefits beginning the first of the month following their hire date. A SIMPLE IRA plan with a 3% employer match, which is fully vested, is also available.
New employees receive 112 hours of paid time off during their first year, prorated based on their hire date, along with 13 paid holidays and 10 Summer Fridays.
