Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Healthy SBCSS, Innovation & Engagement Branch, the Program Coordinator, School Nursing plans, organizes, manages, and evaluates comprehensive school-based health services provided to San Bernardino County Local Education Agencies (LEAs). The Program Coordinator, School Nursing provides leadership and professional development for LEA school nursing and health services programs; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; coordinates and implements specialized health initiatives; directs and ensures compliance with school health-related Medi-Cal activities including the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI); and supervises and evaluates assigned certificated and classified staff. The position serves as a liaison among state and county government agencies, community-based organizations, SBCSS leadership, Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs), school districts, public health agencies, and community partners to support student health, safety, and academic success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Clear School Nurse Services Credential; • Possession of a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility (COE) in Administrative Services; • Five (5) years of full-time school nursing experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a Master's degree in Nursing; • Additional years of full-time school nursing experience.
