Job Summary The Project Vox Coordinator is an individual in long-term recovery who will mobilize the recovery community and other key stakeholders to promote stigma reduction efforts associated with substance use and recovery. The Coordinator will implement prevention strategies to address environmental factors that impede access to recovery supports and resources. The Project Vox Coordinator is comfortable with public speaking and working collaboratively in groups. and is highly knowledgeable of substance use recovery resources. Description of responsibilities: - Recruit members to join Project Vox.
- Assist in planning and executing town hall meetings, community events, and events for persons in recovery.
- Train persons in recovery to speak on recovery issues.
- Act as an ambassador of CARE within the community and during collaborative initiatives
- Disseminate substance use prevention information at health fairs and other community events as requested.
- Demonstrate full comprehension of the management by objective (MBO) plan and meet quality programmatic standards.
- Ability to adjust hours of work based on the community needs, including evening and weekend hours.
- Knowledgeable of national and local substance use and prevention statistics and demonstrates the ability to apply current trends to service delivery.
Required experience: - Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of Recovery Oriented System of Care and Trauma Informed Services.
Required skills/education: - High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required.
- Must be in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder; 4 years of recovery time preferred.
- Must be certified as a Prevention Consultant or Prevention Specialist (CPC-R or CPS) or be eligible for a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation upon hire.
- Must possess an active Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) certification.
- Certificate of completion of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Coach Academy, including ethics.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license
