TRC is seeking an inquisitive and detail-oriented Program Coordinator I to join the client's Unclaimed Property Program (UPP). In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring unclaimed funds are returned to their rightful owners while providing excellent customer service to the public and business community. The Program Coordinator I assists with researching, reviewing, and processing claims, helping constituents navigate the claims process, and validating documentation to ensure accurate payments. This position requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism. The role also contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the UPP by supporting team operations, serving as a backup for other functions, and participating in outreach initiatives to connect with individuals and businesses.

Pay: $24.00/hour
Location: Columbia, 290201
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Assist customers by phone, in person, and virtually with information about the Unclaimed Property Program.
Perform searches for individuals and businesses seeking unclaimed property and assist with the claims process, including explaining documentation requirements.
Review and approve general claims for payment in accordance with department guidelines.
Conduct research to ensure payments are issued to the rightful property owner.
Review and validate documentation submitted by claimants to ensure appropriate payment of funds.
Open and prepare daily incoming mail, scan claim documentation into the system, and route other correspondence as appropriate.
Serve as a backup for other team members to ensure continuity of service to constituents.
