Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The Program Coordinator will provide management for the day-to-day programming activities and will serve as the primary administrative point of contact for the program. The Program Coordinator will work with Center of Excellence for Social Justice' (CESJ) students, partners, staff, and other university constituents. The position will be responsible for fostering a sense of pride and support for the Center, and for helping the CESJ achieve its mission and goals.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Center of Excellence for Social Justice draws upon the interdisciplinary academic and historical resources of North Carolina A&T State University to support in-depth academic examination of topics such as race, economics, higher education, civil rights, public policy and related areas of study. Through research and academic inquiry, the center examines how these subjects have shaped the development of the United States and continue to influence contemporary society.

The Center manages The Power of Four Fellowship Program, which focuses on selecting four freshman students each year, providing them with the resources and support to scale up national and global social equality projects during their four years at A&T; the Social Justice Scholar-in-Residence program, which will bring exemplary activists who champion issues on campus; and the Youth in Action Prize, which will exemplify the legacy and tradition of activism among young people.

Additionally, the center provides Building Bridges Roundtable, which will provide local community members with the opportunity to create a stronger opportunity by gathering university student, faculty and staff. Host an annual Truth and Transformation Conference.

Work Hours M-F 8-5pm Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)

Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies

Required Competency Information Analysis and Decision Making Duties

• Collect, analyze, and interpret program participation data, assessment results, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing outcomes, performance metrics, and recommendations for program enhancements.
• Monitor compliance with university policies, grant guidelines, and reporting requirements.
• Use data-informed decision-making to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support strategic planning efforts for CESJ initiatives.

Required Competency Communication and Marketing Duties

• Develop and implement communication strategies to increase awareness of CESJ programs, research initiatives, events, and community engagement opportunities.
• Create and distribute promotional materials, social media content, newsletters, website updates, and event announcements for internal and external audiences.
• Serve as a liaison between CESJ, university departments, students, faculty, community organizations, and external partners to support collaboration and engagement.
• Coordinate outreach efforts that advance the Center's mission of promoting social justice education, research, and community impact.

Required Competency Program/Project Administration Duties

• Coordinate, implement, and evaluate CESJ programs, initiatives, conferences, workshops, community engagement projects, and special events.
• Develop project timelines, monitor program objectives, and ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with institutional and grant requirements.
• Manage event logistics, scheduling, participant registration, travel arrangements, and communications with faculty, students, community partners, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain program records, budgets, reports, and assessment data to support operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
