Our client is seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented Claims Analyst to join the Unclaimed Property Program (UPP). This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about public service and committed to helping return unclaimed property to its rightful owners. The Claims Analyst provides exceptional customer service while conducting detailed claims research, reviewing legal documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely claims processing.
Assist customers via phone, in person, and through virtual channels with inquiries related to the Unclaimed Property Program.
Conduct searches for individuals and businesses to identify unclaimed property and guide claimants through the claims process.
Explain claim requirements and required documentation to ensure complete and accurate submissions.
Review, research, and approve general claims in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Perform thorough investigations to verify claimant eligibility and ensure payments are issued to the rightful property owners.
Review and validate legal and financial documentation submitted in support of claims.
Process incoming mail by opening, preparing, scanning, indexing, and routing claim documentation and correspondence.
Maintain accurate documentation and electronic records within the claims management system.
Serve as a backup for other team members to ensure continuity of operations and exceptional customer service.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to research complex issues and interpret supporting documentation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with multiple computer systems simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience reviewing legal, financial, or estate-related documents.
Previous experience in financial services, banking, insurance, government, claims processing, or a related field.
Experience providing customer service in a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
Ability to lift and carry files, books, and reports weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform routine office tasks.
Occasional in-state travel with limited overnight travel may be required.
