Join the Pre-professional Advising Office team as the Program Coordinator! The Program Coordinator is an essential member of the Pre-professional Advising Office and provides crucial administrative support and management for an office that supports thousands of pre-health and pre-law students and alumni from all undergraduate schools and colleges at BU. 

 

The Program Coordinator completes a broad range of administrative tasks and provides support to all Pre-professional Advising staff to support the office's goal of providing comprehensive advising services for pre-health and pre-law Assist students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff who contact or visit the office by responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, directing visitors to resources in the office, and seeking assistance from advisors as needed.

 

  • Assist in overseeing a team of student employees, including the hiring process.
  • Maintain students' electronic and paper records with a high degree of confidentiality and maintains the resources and reference materials available in the office and online.
  • Support advisors with professional school application related materials and processes. 


Required Skills

A cover letter is required for consideration.

  • Associates degree required, Bachelors Degree and at least one year of related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with students, alumni, staff, faculty, prospective families, and any guests.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve issues, and when necessary, to take initiative to answer questions and to follow up on concerns.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. 
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Zoom (web conferencing), online scheduling and productivity systems (e.g. Handshake, Blackboard, Appointy, Canva), website maintenance (Word Press), and cloud-based software systems such as Google Workspace, and/or the ability to learn new technologies quickly and efficiently.
