SummaryAthletic Program Coordinator, under the general supervision of the Athletic Program Manager, develops and implements various programs designed to provide athletic and recreational opportunities to the community. This leadership role must be available to work flexible hours including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, implements, evaluates, and supervises athletic programs, sports leagues, and race events for all ages, aligning with community needsCoordinates communication and field scheduling with athletic staff, participants, recognized youth sports associations. advisory boards, concessionaires, and other related parties to ensure sports facilities are organized for tournaments and other activitiesOversee reservations of all athletic fields and facilitiesPartners with Communications and Marketing Department to develop, implement, and approve promotion of facilities, programs, and eventsAssists in the supervision of full-time/part-time employees and volunteers for programs and eventsRecruits, trains employees, and participates in staffing decisionsSecures and schedules use of facilities, equipment, personnel, and officialsSubmits work orders for repairs needing to maintain safety of equipmentOversees inventory and property managementMaintains data in City systems, such as RecTrac/WebTrac, OpenGov, Dayforce, EmPerform and Temple Parks and Recreation websites and calendarsOversees the acceptance, reception, and collection of paymentsOversees the preparation and processing of purchase ordersSubmits recommendations that impact the department budgetProvides weekly program, activity, and financial reports to Program ManagerProvides exceptional customer service and responds to inquiries and requests from citizensFollows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

Minimum Qualifications
Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate's degree in Recreation Administration or related fieldThree (3) years of experience of developing and implementing athletics programs, activities and managing multiple athletic facilities or related areaTwo (2) years of experience in a supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Administration, or related field
Certifications and Licenses
Valid driver's license
