The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Workers Compensation, is recruiting for a

Program Coordinator 2 located in Juneau!

This position is in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a Range 20.

What You Will Be Doing:

As part of the Divisions leadership team, you will lead the day-to-day administration of several statewide workers compensation programs that support Alaskas workers and employers, including the Fishermens Fund, Benefits Guaranty Fund, Second Injury Fund, Self-Insurance, and Annual Reporting.

  • Supervise staff, set priorities, review work, and help ensure decisions are accurate, timely, and consistent with law and policy.
  • Review claims, petitions, applications, and other program issues that require sound judgment and careful analysis.
  • Work extensively in Excel and other systems to analyze large datasets, track trends, reconcile information, and support program and fiscal decision-making.
  • Draft reports, correspondence, and other formal materials, help lead system improvements, and represent the division in meetings with agencies, stakeholders, and the public.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is located in our Juneau office on the waterfront next to Overstreet Park. You can expect a professional, collaborative work environment with a mix of independent work and frequent coordination with others.

This position requires occasional in-state and out-of-state travel for meetings, conferences, and program representation - approximately 3-4 trips annually.
