The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position.
Perform extensive quantitative and qualitative analyses of an IRS program function operation or management systems and procedures to assess whether the entity is achieving economy efficiency and effectiveness in the employment of available resources and or is in compliance with established laws policies and procedures.
Use applicable standards theories techniques methods and practices of accounting and program management and internal controls in assessing IRS and TIGTA operations.
Develop evaluationinspection plans making recommendations for objectives approaches or tests based on experience or research.
Modify the evaluationinspection plan by changing areas of emphasis or develops new approaches as determined by analysis of findings.
Conduct risk assessments and applies the information to each assignment.
Develop and conduct special in-depth analysis of activities within general or high-risk IRS programs.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience please indicate dates of employment by monthdayyear and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program applicants must have within the previous two years completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates bachelors masters professional doctorate vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application. However you must graduate prior to being appointed to the position. if applicable. For more information on education requirements go to Treasurys Pathways Program.
Veterans who due to a military service obligation were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the two year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full two years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veterans eligibility period may not extend beyond six years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study.
Specialized experience for the GS-09 is fifty-two 52 weeks of experience at the GS-07 level that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes - Researching laws regulations guidelines or procedures AND - Collecting andor analyzing documentation to assess risk develop project strategy andor support project objectives AND - Communicating status or results of work to internal or external management.
OR - Experience working for a tax administration organization that includes responsibility for documenting results of audits projects or analyses in written documents.
OR A Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or a LLB or JD in a related field.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) provides leadership and coordination and recommends policy for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of the internal revenue laws. TIGTA also recommends policies to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in the programs and operations of the IRS and related entities.
U.S. Mint
The U.S. Mint designs and manufactures domestic, bullion and foreign coins as well as commemorative medals and other numismatic items. The Mint also distributes U.S. coins to the Federal Reserve banks as well as maintains physical custody and protection of our nation's silver and gold assets.
