About Houston-Galveston Area Council The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than7million people. What will I be doing? - Assist with the planning and development of new and existing large-scale projects
- Manage multiple projects, including those overseeing the team responsible for childcare services and eligibility
- Develop action plans to streamline processes and achieve expected outcomes in a timely manner
- Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with Workforce Board’s directive and comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Supervise a diverse team of individuals
- Strategically adjust workload amongst team members
- Effectively communicate unit and project status
Key Qualifications - Experienced in Project Management Principles and proven ability to handle large-scale projects from inception to completion, and anywhere in between
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple competing deadlines
- Skill in allocating scarce resources, including human capital
- Effective leadership, motivation, and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving capabilities
Do you have…- Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 5 years of experience with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with local government funding and contract management
