The Program Assistant plays an important role in creating a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful environment for our residents. Working under the direction of the Program Director, the Program Assistant will follow the established daily activity schedule and lead approximately 5–6 activities each day, with support from vendors, volunteers, and care team members.
Our goal is to create a culture of engagement that supports every resident's mind, body, and soul. Activities should encourage socialization, creativity, movement, cognitive stimulation, independence, and meaningful connections.
We are looking for someone who brings energy and enthusiasm into the community and genuinely enjoys engaging with older adults.
Follow and assist with implementing the daily activity calendar created by the Program Director.
Lead and facilitate approximately 5–6 scheduled resident activities each day.
Encourage residents to participate while respecting individual preferences, abilities, and interests.
Provide activities that promote cognitive, physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being.
Assist residents in getting to and from scheduled programs and activities as needed.
Work collaboratively with care team members, vendors, volunteers, families, and community partners.
Prepare activity areas and gather necessary supplies before each program.
Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming activity spaces.
Assist with special events, celebrations, outings, holiday programs, and community events.
Help identify new and creative activities based on residents' interests and abilities.
Communicate resident participation, concerns, and changes to the Program Director and appropriate team members.
Maintain a positive, professional, and resident-centered attitude throughout the workday.
Perform other duties related to resident programming and engagement as assigned.
The ideal Program Assistant is a self-starter and go-getter who does not need to be constantly directed. This individual should be comfortable taking initiative, interacting with residents, and bringing creativity and positive energy to the community.
We are seeking someone who is:
Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic
Creative and passionate about working with seniors
Dependable, punctual, and organized
A strong communicator and team player
Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of others
Able to motivate and encourage resident participation
Flexible and able to adjust activities based on residents' needs
Patient, compassionate, and respectful
Willing to take initiative and help wherever needed
Able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
Every activity should be more than simply filling time. Our programming is designed to create purpose, connection, joy, and meaningful moments throughout each resident's day. The Program Assistant helps bring that mission to life by creating opportunities for residents to stay engaged, connected, and involved in their community.
