Nucor Building Systems is seeking a Professional Structural Engineer in Terrell, TX to create safe, accurate, and cost-effective pre-engineered metal building systems. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, possesses a US Professional Engineer (PE) license or 3–5 years of structural design experience, and demonstrates strong knowledge of structural building codes.

Job Responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
- Design & Analysis: Perform creative design for custom metal building systems (structural steel, roof/wall panels, secondary members, bracing, and cranes) using proprietary analysis software.
- Project Oversight & Collaboration: Review and check structural drawings for accuracy while collaborating closely with detailing teams and other divisions to ensure seamless project execution.
- Safety & Continuous Growth: Maintain safety standards and actively participate in ongoing professional development and cross-team innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Authorization: BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
- Engineering Experience & Codes: Active PE registration or 3–5 years of structural engineering design experience with strong knowledge of IBC, AISC, ASCE7, and AISI building codes.
- Industry & Technical Expertise: Preferred background in Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB), SE registration, leadership experience, and proficiency with metal building design software.
