Description

Nucor Buildings Group West LLC is seeking a Professional Structural Engineer in Brigham City, UT. In this hybrid role, you will design safe, accurate, and cost-effective metal building systems, including structural steel, panels, and stability bracing, to drive sales growth and profitability. Candidates must hold a B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, possess a U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) registration, and demonstrate strong knowledge of structural building codes (IBC, ASIC, ASCE7, AISI).

Job Responsibilities

Job Duties

Design structural steel, wall/roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing for unique pre-engineered metal building systems adhering to industry codes.


Perform technical analyses for frames, bracing, cranes, mezzanines, and panels using proprietary design software, while reviewing structural drawings for accuracy.


Collaborate with detailing teams to execute projects seamlessly and actively participate in continuous professional development and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education & Credentials: Bachelor of Science in Civil or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited) and active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license (Structural Engineer registration preferred).


Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASIC 360/341/358, ASCE7, AISI) and proficiency with metal building design software.


Onsite & Professional Skills: Strong English communication, leadership potential, PEMB industry background (preferred), and willingness to work in-office/onsite at the plant multi-day per week.
