Job Title: Production Worker
Location: Colonial Heights, VA
Overview
The Production Worker is responsible for operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment, inspecting products to ensure quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned equipment and monitor production processes to ensure high-quality output
- Record and report production, quality, and downtime data accurately
- Analyze data and production reports to make appropriate adjustments and optimize operations
- Execute setup and changeover of equipment, including bending, lifting, and repetitive motions
- Work in environments that may be hot, cold, or dirty, adhering to safety standards
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, production, and quality
- Execute life-critical procedures such as equipment isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area for optimal operation and safety
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
Requirements
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work rotating 12-hour Dupont Schedule
- High School Diploma or GED, or strong basic literacy and math skills
- Must be a US Citizen due to job requirements
- Reliable and punctual; attendance is critical (5 lates/absences may lead to termination)
- Good hand/eye coordination and dexterity
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work well within a team
- Motivated learner with strong problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy with skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, etc.
- Availability for a 4 to 6-month assignment with potential for full-time employment for high performers
- Demonstrated ability to meet safety, quality, and production targets in a semi-independent manufacturing role
- Experience interfacing with software systems for equipment operation, inventory, and quality control
- Ability to analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts
- Focus on key details and troubleshooting skills
- Creative thinking and idea generation capabilities
