    Production Technician

    Job Overview

    Optimal EV is looking for a hands-on Production Technician to support the assembly and manufacturing of commercial electric vehicles. This position performs a variety of production tasks and plays an important role in keeping the assembly process safe, organized, efficient, and moving forward.

    Responsibilities

    • Read assembly prints and determine the correct parts and materials needed for each build.
    • Use measuring equipment, including tape measures, digital calipers, and digital protractors.
    • Perform vehicle disassembly work, including fluid extraction, low-voltage battery removal, hoist operation, engine removal, cab removal, and axle removal.
    • Complete vehicle assembly using hand tools, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and other production equipment.
    • Accurately document serial numbers, torque specifications, assembly revision levels, and other critical build information.
    • Assist with shop organization and assembly-line modifications.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
    • Maintain reliable and regular attendance.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Two to three years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly.
    • Experience in specialty vehicle manufacturing is preferred.
    • Electric vehicle experience is a plus.
    • Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through production challenges.
    • Ability to communicate and work well with others.
    • Dependable attendance without excessive absences.
    • Previous experience working in a start-up environment is a plus.
