Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage production schedules based on customer demand and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate with planning and other production departments to ensure workflow alignment.
  • Train, mentor, and hold team members accountable for production performance and process compliance.
  • Ensure production orders are accurately completed, confirmed, and documented within company systems.
  • Monitor productivity metrics and provide coaching to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Participate in interviewing and selection activities for production team members.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, machine setup documentation, and training materials.
  • Oversee quality control expectations and ensure compliance with established procedures and SOPs.
  • Audit quality records, production confirmations, and work-in-progress documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure all work-in-progress materials are properly identified and traceable.
  • Partner with leadership to plan and implement process improvement projects.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment while supporting continuous safety improvements.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on shop floor manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, materials management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing operational procedures and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and manufacturing software.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, Lean, or Six Sigma are highly desirable.
