Responsibilities:
As a member of the Applications Production Support (PSS) you will provide coverage and support for all ATPCO applications:
- Provide 24 hours coverage and support for all ATPCO Production Applications.
- Analyze and identify root causes for both legacy and J2EE ATPCO Production Applications problems.
- Takes complete ownership of production problems and issues anticipating and mitigating risks, escalating issues appropriately and keeping all necessary parties informed, formulating and implementing solutions often in a critical timeframe.
- Proactively addresses issues so they will not adversely impact production applications, projects, or subscriptions.
- Reviews project design and programs, suggesting efficient data access strategies and utilizing reuse components whenever possible.
- Works with QA to develop and execute integrated test plans.
- Creates or reviews implementation plans for production installs.
- Ensures that all technical documentation and programs are complete and under configuration management.
- Adheres to established ATPCO programming standards and recommends appropriate modifications.
- Proposes and validates system solutions to complex business problems.
- Contributes technical and business support for Production Support.
- Mentors less experienced team members.
- Serves as a company-wide technical resource for those systems and technologies with which they are familiar.
- Identifies application, system and hardware impacts of proposed solutions.
- Provides direction in the absence of the Manager.
- Current in programming techniques, technologies and tools utilized at ATPCO.
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and proposes/implements feasible solutions at ATPCO to improve ATPCO Production Applications efficiencies.
General:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training and work experience.
Work experience:
Minimum qualifications include 7+ years technical programming experience, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2 and SQL. IDMS, J2EE, industry or ATPCO Applications experience a plus.
