POSITION: Production Support Specialist 1
SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Frequent Overtime on Fridays, 4-10 hours)
PAY RATE: $23.46 - 26.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package
LOCATION: West Fargo, ND
 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Support Specialist 1 plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across fabrication and material handling areas. This position supports production by transporting materials, maintaining clean and safe workspaces, and assisting with equipment and inventory needs. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition.
  • Transport materials and parts to and from production areas as needed.
  • Assist with loading/unloading inbound and outbound materials.
  • Support machine operators and fabrication teams with timely material delivery.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Use overhead cranes to move heavy or oversized materials in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Clean, sort, and organize parts and components to ensure readiness for production or storage.
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret tape measures (imperial and metric).
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to use reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems preferred.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing priorities.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certified preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or material handling is a plus.
