This role provides direct supervision of night shift production personnel, drives operational performance, and ensures adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. The Production Supervisor plays a key role in achieving production targets, minimizing waste, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output objectivesLead and reinforce compliance with Westlake Pipe & Fittings safety policies and proceduresConduct shift meetings, safety training, inspections, incident investigations, and follow-up actionsDrive root cause problem solving using 5-Why methodology and structured improvement toolsMonitor workflow, staffing, and line performance to optimize efficiency and reduce downtimeComplete accurate and timely production documentation, including shift reports, SAP production data, and SPC chartsProvide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to production team membersPartner with Maintenance and Engineering to recommend equipment improvements or modificationsLead changeovers to ensure efficient transitions and minimal production disruptionMonitor key performance metrics including production output, scrap, material utilization, and regrind usageCoach, develop, and performance-manage team membersSupport employee relations activities including attendance tracking, overtime management, and disciplinary actionsMaintain high standards of housekeeping and enforce plant cleanliness policiesParticipate in supervisor and operational meetings as requiredPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentExperience in PVC/PVCO extrusion operations preferred1-2 years of leadership or team supervision experienceStrong understanding of production processes, workflow coordination, and operational performanceWorking knowledge of safety procedures and manufacturing best practicesFamiliarity with SAP, SPC, or production reporting systems preferredStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communication and team leadership capabilityPhysical DemandsThis role requires frequent standing, walking, and communication. The employee may be required to use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position involves regular light lifting and occasional moderate lifting consistent with a manufacturing environment.Work EnvironmentThis position operates within a manufacturing plant environment. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, and airborne particles.
