Description

The Production Supervisor will:

  • Lead and oversee daily operations across a multi-shift chemical production facility.
  • Manage, coach, train, and develop production personnel while maintaining a positive and productive working environment.
  • Drive adherence to safety, environmental, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Plan, communicate, and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and operational targets.
  • Coordinate material availability and inventory requirements to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, laboratory, wastewater, logistics, and other operational teams to optimize workflow and productivity.
  • Monitor production performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Analyze operational challenges and resolve production-related issues efficiently.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures remain current, accurate, and effectively communicated.
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization projects in partnership with technical and engineering teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities when necessary.
  • Track departmental performance against budgetary and operational objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.
  • Provide hands-on operational support during staffing shortages or peak production periods.

Profile

The successful Production Supervisor will have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising manufacturing or chemical production teams.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of chemical processes and safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, procedures, and safety data information.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Proven ability to make sound operational and personnel decisions.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and production-related software.
  • Ability to analyze data, calculate production requirements, and support process improvements.
  • Chemistry education or related technical background preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing, chemical, metals, or process industry environment strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to engineering projects or continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous.
