    POSITION SUMMARY

    Responsible for motivating, leading, and coordinating production employees to safely produce quality products. This role is fully accountable for safety, quality, delivery, and execution within the assigned production area, including ownership of the daily production schedule, workforce performance, training compliance, and equipment readiness. Supervisors are expected to lead from the floor, enforce standards consistently, and ensure work is executed safely, correctly, and on time.

    This position is responsible for 2nd shift operations (3-11pm).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Provide direct supervision to manufacturing employees, including work assignment, floor oversight, and coverage

    Own daily production execution, schedule attainment, and on-time delivery commitments

    Monitor production progress in real time, maintain accurate work order status, and take immediate corrective action to resolve delays

    Manage employee timekeeping (vacation requests, timecard approvals)

    Ensure appropriate staffing, coverage, and workforce management to meet operational requirements

    Enforce all safety policies and procedures without exception and address unsafe behavior immediately

    Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as customer and company standards and policies

    Own employee training, cross-training, and qualification requirements to support flexibility and performance

    Maintain training records, certifications, and attendance documentation

    Conduct performance appraisals and provide ongoing, direct feedback to employees

    Identify and resolve employee relations and performance issues and areas of opportunity

    Administer progressive discipline related to attendance, performance, and policy compliance, up to and including termination

    Reinforce standard work and strict process discipline across all operations, including machining, welding, brazing, furnace operations, assembly, chem-line, and other functions within the facility

    Partner with Quality and Engineering to support containment, identify root cause/corrective action, and proactively drive process improvements

    Ensure equipment readiness and confirm preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled

    Escalate and follow through on equipment and operational issues until resolution

    Coordinate cross-functionally with Scheduling, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, and Human Resources

    Lead daily communication of priorities, expectations, and results

    Accountable for departmental performance and achievement of production, safety, and quality objectives

    Provide feedback to management and recommend process improvements to drive continuous improvement

    Perform other duties as assigned

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, blueprints, and technical documentation; proficient in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers

    Strong knowledge of machining, welding, and assembly processes

    Excellent leadership, team-building, coaching, and communication skills (interpersonal, written, and oral)

    Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, draw valid conclusions, and execute with attention to detail and urgency in a fast-paced environment

    Proficient computer skills, including employee management systems (Workday), Microsoft Office, and Excel

    Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience required; Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience; 10 years preferred
    • Proven ability to lead teams, enforce standards, and drive operational performance
    • Due to federal contract obligations, must meet the definition of a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
    • Must be willing to work hours required to support operations, including coverage of primary shift and weekends when needed
