    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Provide leadership and management of assembly operations. Oversee all assembly activities to ensure a safe work environment, quality products, and on-time customer service. Manage assembly and aftermarket parts manufacturing activities. Utilize and embrace lean manufacturing activities and sound analytical tools to drive continuous improvement. Motivate, challenge, and develop subordinates to ensure continuous skill and performance improvement. Interact with personnel throughout the organization as needed to ensure goals and objectives are met.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area (office & shop).

    • Reduce the overall cost of quality. Manage all aspects of the business such that employees and processes adhere to the requirements of the Quality Manual, Procedures, and Standards.

    • Meet or exceed shipping goal every month. Ship products on time to customer requirements, minimizing delinquencies.

    • Effectively manage a team of up to 30 indirect reports. Enforce work rules fairly and consistently. Instill accountability in employees to perform at a higher level. Crosstrain employees and utilize them regularly to facilitate flexibility and responsiveness.

    • Promote lean, continuous improvement, and waste elimination in all activities. Direct improvement activities to support and meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Support and guide cross-functional teams.

    • Utilize visual management and metrics to monitor and manage. Includes timely completion of metrics and monthly reports, and process tracking tools.

    • Ensure compliance with established policies, processes, and procedures throughout the business. Investigate, develop, and implement improved processes and procedures.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Minimum seven years' experience in a manufacturing leadership position. Union experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.

    • Demonstrated history of driving improvements and measurable results in a production environment.

    • Experience leading process improvement initiatives.

    • Microsoft Office proficiency.

    • Highly driven, goals-oriented professional.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE, BUT NOT REQUIRED

    • Experience with make-to-order (MTO) and engineer-to-order (ETO) production environments.

    • Familiarity with machined parts assembly processes.

    • Familiarity with production and materials planning.
