Production Supervisor

Full-time, Permanent

Graymont is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Indian Creek location. This role is responsible for leading production crews, supporting safe and reliable plant operations, and helping ensure that quality and production goals are met. The Production Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership in the field, coach employees, reinforce expectations, and work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, process groups, remote operations, and HSE teams to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

· Lead, coach, and develop production employees in a safe, professional, and accountable manner by: o setting clear expectations, o providing regular feedback, o supporting training, · and helping team members track goals and KPIs.

· Promote a strong safety culture by: o conducting field interactions, o reinforcing safe work practices and established procedures, o addressing hazards or at-risk behaviors promptly, o supporting incident reviews and good catch follow-up, o participating in the plant safety committee, o and using the Safety Culture App to improve accountability.

· Plan, assign, and follow up on daily production activities to meet operational priorities, production targets, product quality expectations, housekeeping standards, and reliable plant performance.

· Support quality expectations by ensuring samples, process checks, product handling practices, and production and quality reporting are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.

· Work closely with maintenance to: o identify equipment issues, o prioritize repairs, o follow the maintenance excellence program, o process work orders effectively, o support reliable operation of plant equipment, o and assist with root cause analysis and corrective solutions for equipment failures or process upsets.

· Communicate effectively across plant functions and non-plant resources, including supervisors, plant leadership, maintenance, process, quality, HSE, remote operations, contractors, and vendors.

· Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements while participating in continuous improvement activities and corrective action tracking.

· Coordinate maintenance and production activities associated with long- and short-term shutdowns, capital projects, major repairs, contractor work, and vendor-provided services.

· Participate in day-to-day plant environmental compliance and reporting and assure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies as a minimum standard.

· Participate as a critical member of the Indian Creek plant management team.

· Perform on-call duties on rotation with the management team.

Qualifications

· Education: Relevant college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; high school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, college coursework, or related certifications are considered an asset.

· Professional Experience: Previous supervisory or lead experience in mining, lime, cement, aggregates, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or similar operations preferred.

· Working knowledge of industrial equipment, production processes, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance practices.

· Ability to lead people, set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold team members accountable in a fair and consistent manner.

· Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, make sound decisions in a fast-paced operating environment, and pursue process improvements.

· Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, quality, reliable production, and maintaining a safe work culture.

· Must be able to meet all site access, safety, and fitness-for-duty requirements.

· Technology Requirements: Strong computer skills, including proficiency with common business systems, email, spreadsheets, production reporting tools, and JDE.

· PLC programming experience is considered an asset.

· Beneficial Experience: Knowledge of rotary kilns and quicklime is considered an asset.

· Basic financial management skills, including budgeting, planning, and analysis.

· Additional Asset: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to conduct crew talks, document issues, and communicate effectively across departments.

· Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet operational requirements and deadlines.
