    Job Summary

    The Production Supervisor – Upholstery, Wood, Laminating & Case Goods is responsible for leading daily operations across multiple production areas including wood fabrication, laminating, upholstery, and final case goods assembly. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality while supporting employee-owners and reinforcing a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

    Production & Operations

    • Supervise daily operations across wood shop, laminating, upholstery, and case goods assembly
    • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery requirements are met
    • Monitor work orders, material flow, and bottlenecks
    • Partner with Production Control/Scheduler to prioritize work
    • Drive productivity improvements and reduce downtime
    • Support capacity balancing between component production and final assembly

    Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop team members
    • Provide clear expectations and accountability
    • Conduct performance feedback and coaching
    • Support training and cross-training (including flex operators)
    • Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment

    Quality & Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure adherence to quality standards
    • Identify and address root causes of defects
    • Support lean manufacturing initiatives
    • Promote standard work and continuous improvement

    Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce safety policies and procedures
    • Ensure proper use of PPE
    • Partner with Safety to address hazards
    • Maintain OSHA and company compliance

    Communication & Coordination

    • Communicate daily priorities and updates
    • Collaborate with other departments
    • Escalate risks through At-Risk Reporting
    • Maintain accurate production and labor reporting

    Qualifications - Required

    • 3–5+ years of manufacturing experience in wood, upholstery, laminating, or case goods production
    • Supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong understanding of production flow and assembly processes
    • Ability to lead teams, prioritize work and drive results

    Qualifications - Preferred

    • Experience in custom millwork or case goods manufacturing
    • Knowledge of laminating processes (HPL, TFL, adhesives)
    • Upholstery experience (cut/sew, foam, fabric application)
    • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
    • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor/Kinetic preferred)
    • Bilingual is a plus

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
    • Occasional lifting to 50 pounds.
    • Full use of arms and hands for operational activities.       
    • Ability to communicate and maintain safety awareness.

    Work Environment

    Work is performed in both office and manufacturing settings with exposure to dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, and equipment. Required PPE must be worn on the production floor.

    Travel: Infrequent travel to satellite facilities, vendor locations, customer sites, and industry partners may be required.
