Position Title: Production Supervisor - Interior Assembly

Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

Clearance Requirements: None

Position Status: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $80,000 Annually

Position Description

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Production Supervisor - Interior Assembly to lead daily manufacturing operations within a fast-paced automotive production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production teams, ensuring safety and quality compliance, meeting production schedules, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and developing a high-performing workforce.

The ideal candidate will have experience supervising manufacturing teams, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for operational excellence, employee development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and team observations.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses while implementing corrective actions.

  • Lead daily safety discussions and reinforce safe work practices.

  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.

Production Management

  • Direct daily Interior Assembly operations to achieve production targets and customer requirements.

  • Monitor production schedules, staffing levels, and workflow efficiency.

  • Coordinate labor resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

  • Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions and operating procedures.

  • Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, efficiency, scrap, quality, and downtime.

Quality Management

  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

  • Support containment activities, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Investigate quality concerns and implement preventive measures.

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes.

  • Promote accountability and ownership for product quality throughout the department.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members and team leaders.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and mentorship.

  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee development activities.

  • Address employee relations issues professionally and consistently.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven work environment.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes.

  • Utilize production data and performance metrics to support decision-making and action planning.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and performance metrics.

  • Manage attendance, scheduling, staffing, and overtime requirements.

  • Communicate production performance, priorities, and operational concerns to leadership.

  • Participate in daily production meetings and cross-functional planning activities.

Required Skills/Education

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory, team lead, or manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, production, or automotive environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.

  • Ability to analyze production metrics and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • Automotive manufacturing or interior assembly experience.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
