    Production Supervisor

    Location: Browns Summit, NC
    Schedule: 12 hour rotating shift, nights, weekends, and overtime as required

    Position Summary

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of heat shrink film products. This position oversees production employees, monitors daily operations, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production goals while minimizing waste and downtime.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Supervise, coach, and develop hourly production employees across assigned shifts.
    • Coordinate daily production activities to ensure schedules, productivity targets, and customer requirements are met.
    • Monitor machine performance, production rates, scrap levels, and quality metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to optimize plant performance.
    • Conduct shift meetings, communicate production goals, and provide updates on key initiatives.
    • Manage employee attendance, performance, training, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
    • Review production reports and maintain accurate records for productivity, quality, and labor performance.
    • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.
    • Ensure adherence to product specifications and customer quality requirements.
    • Assist with staffing, training, and onboarding of new employees.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with 5S practices throughout the production areas.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
    • Experience in film extrusion, converting, packaging, plastics manufacturing, or related continuous-process manufacturing environments preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, safety programs, and manufacturing best practices.
    • Ability to analyze production data and make informed operational decisions.
    • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
