Description:

We are working with a national food manufacturer in the Pleasant Prairie, WI area looking for three high-energy, technical, and people-oriented Production Supervisors to spearhead the launch and ongoing operations of a brand-new manufacturing line. As a 3rd Shift Supervisor, you will be the "Captain of the Ship" during the overnight hours, ensuring that the newest investment meets its first-year performance benchmarks while fostering a culture of safety and excellence from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

  • Startup Leadership: Oversee the initial commissioning, testing, and full-scale production of a state-of-the-art food processing line.

  • Team Building: Train, mentor, and manage a newly hired crew of 15–25 operators and technicians. You aren’t just managing a shift; you’re building a team culture.

  • Operational Excellence: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including throughput, yield, and labor efficiency.

  • Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards. You are the final line of defense for product quality during the overnight hours.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify "teething pains" in the new equipment and work closely with Engineering and Maintenance to implement permanent fixes.

  • Shift Handover: Facilitate a seamless transition between 2nd and 1st shifts, ensuring all production data is accurately logged and issues are communicated.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. Experience with new line startups or greenfield projects is a massive plus.

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, or Engineering preferred.

  • Technical Savvy: Comfort with automated systems, PLC-driven machinery, and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of OSHA, FDA, and USDA regulations.
