    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

    To lead the planning and execution of the work efforts for assigned departments to maintain the quality and intergrity of products at the lowest possible cost.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Directs assigned departments efforts, including staff supervision and associated personnel actions.
    • Provides direction to designated work teams with responsibility for maintaining productions schedules, quality of work, and planning and assigning duties.
    • Build upon processes established by engineering; leads process improvement efforts by establishing performance measures and goals, monitoring trends, and initiating problem-solving and corrective action.
    • Ensure department work areas are safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant through training, implementation of EHS policies, and continuous improvement.
    • Creates and maintains training matrices of personnel and associated documentation.
    • Interfaces with supporting departments such as Engineering and Quality Assurance.
    • Ensure adequate resources are in place for employees to perform daily operations, including materials, tools, and training.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    This position has supervisory responsibilities.

    Required Experience:

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
    • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
    • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
    • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
    • Understands the importance of effective conflict resolution.
    • Familiarity & general understanding of employment law & company policies.
    • Understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
    • Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Four-year college/university degree (technical field preferred) or equivalent experience.
    • Three years of related experience in manufacturing, including supervision.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Shopfloor environment/shared workbench or workstation.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors, large fans).
    • Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
    • The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and climb or balance.
