Position Summary:
Provides direction and instruction to ensure operational objectives and work plans are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Communicates daily workflow processes on production floor to line leads, ensuring leads understand the workflow priorities for the day.
- Directs daily contact with temporary staffing agencies to ensure personnel labor needs are met.
- Records and reports all hours worked for both full time and temporary staff and assigns weekly schedule including days off.
- Monitors productivity of personnel.
- Handles all aspects of line clearance before and after each changeover.
- Gathers and reviews all paperwork turned in from Line Leads regarding overall operation of machine on a daily basis.
- Ensures overall cleanliness within the Packaging operation.
- Coordinates daily assignment of all line workers to a particular machine and job.
- Coordinates the cross training of all line workers on various job duties.
- Prepares employee annual performance evaluations in conjunction with input from line leads.
- Coaches and counsel's employees and perform disciplinary action as required in conjunction with Assistant Production Manager.
- Participates in production meetings.
- Reviews daily production downtime for material or labor issues.
Marginal Functions:
- Assists in inventory control ensuring the amount of inventory is on hand for each project.
- Assists in assigning product to particular production line
Job Specifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and understand special projects.
- Ability to understand, enforce and follow company policies and procedures.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferred.
- Familiarity of working with temporary staffing agencies.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications.
- Good leadership skills.
