Production Superintendent

Job Summary

The Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily production operations in a USDA-regulated food processing facility. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with USDA, food safety, quality, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, HACCP plans, and food safety programs
• Lead and support production supervisors and hourly workforce
• Monitor labor, materials, yields, and line efficiencies
• Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and employee training
• Address production issues and escalate concerns as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory experience
• Working knowledge of USDA regulations and HACCP principles
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment

Working Conditions

• Exposure to cold, heat, noise, and food processing environments
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
