Production Soldering Technician
Location: Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: Competitive, based on experience, $25-26/hr
Schedule: Day Shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) OR Night Shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm)
Position Overview: We are seeking a Production Soldering Technician with experience in electronic assembly, soldering, and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and supporting production processes while ensuring quality standards, process efficiency, and equipment performance are maintained. The ideal candidate has strong soldering skills, experience reading work instructions and technical documentation, and the ability to troubleshoot assembly-related issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform production soldering on electronic components, printed circuit boards, cables, and assemblies
- Assemble products according to manufacturing process instructions, drawings, and quality specifications
- Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with workmanship and quality standards
- Troubleshoot assembly and soldering issues and assist with corrective actions when necessary
- Support new product introductions and prototype builds during development activities
- Operate and support automated and manual assembly equipment
- Assist with equipment setups, calibrations, alignments, and minor process adjustments
- Perform testing and verification activities on completed products and assemblies
- Maintain accurate production records and follow established manufacturing procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and process optimization
- Assist operators and team members by answering questions and demonstrating proper assembly techniques
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality requirements, and company policies
Required Experience and Skills:
- Experience in production soldering, electronic assembly, or related manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, work orders, schematics, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, and soldering techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Experience performing inspections and identifying assembly defects
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Technical Experience Preferred:
- Hand soldering and touch-up of through-hole and surface-mount electronic components
- Electronic assembly, component loading, and mechanical assembly
- Cable and harness assembly including crimping, cable preparation, and connector soldering
- Testing and troubleshooting using cable testers, component testers, and logic analyzers
- Inspection using microscopes, measuring tools, and quality verification equipment
- Automated manufacturing equipment including SMT, component insertion, and wave soldering equipment
- Mechanical and electrical hand tools, pneumatic tools, alignment equipment, and precision measuring devices
- IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC certification experience
