Thermal Fill Operator - Evening Shift Position Overview The Thermal Fill Operator performs repetitive extrusion modification operations to produce quality window and door stock rail products. This position will inspect material for quality defects, feed parts into a machine & operate specialized equipment that fills stock lengths of material with thermal break. The thermal fill helps eliminate the transfer of heat to make windows more energy efficient. Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the daily production goals, on-time complete is a critical numberRead and decipher paperwork to ensure proper specifications are met for each job Inspect material for any quality defectsTape applicable rails prior to fillingFeed parts into Thermo-Fill Equipment in specified relationship to the fill nozzle, rollers and or saw bladeSafely operate the Thermal-Fill machineMonitor adequate fill being careful not to overfillVerify cut depth and width is within acceptable parametersStack rails according to their typeOperate the De-bridge sawDouble check paint coverageUnload material and fill carts as laid out in the Pick OrderProperly clean equipmentTimely report any maintenance issuesFill in at different workstations as production needs require.Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Supervisory ResponsibilityNo direct management or supervisory responsibilities. SafetyObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and toe protection. Steal or composite toed footwear is required. Employees must report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly. Employees must follow any job-specific safety requirements such as Safe Product Handling Guidelines. TravelMinimal travel between Quaker campuses is required to for training. Qualifications An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am. Occasional overtime of 8 hours on Fridays may be required as job duties demand. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection.
