Description

Superior Recruiting Agency is seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler for a manufacturing opportunity in the local Hazleton area. This position will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining production schedules based on customer orders, available materials, inventory requirements, and manufacturing capacity.

The Production Scheduler will serve as an important connection between manufacturing and other areas of the operation, working with teams such as sales, materials and supply chain, shipping and logistics, customer service, and production management. The primary goal of this position is to keep manufacturing priorities organized, anticipate potential scheduling issues, and help ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

This is not strictly a desk-based scheduling position. The individual will regularly work directly within the production environment to confirm that scheduled work is progressing as planned, materials are available when needed, production information is accurate, and established performance targets are being met.

Successful candidates should be highly organized, comfortable managing changing priorities, and proactive when addressing potential delays or production constraints. The Production Scheduler will also need to develop a strong understanding of the facility's products, equipment, workflow, and manufacturing processes to make effective scheduling decisions.

This role works closely with employees and leadership throughout the facility and will be expected to support safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, update, and manage manufacturing schedules through an ERP or similar production-planning system, while creating reports used to evaluate workload, progress, and operational performance.

• Coordinate available employees, equipment, and other production resources to maintain efficient workflow and respond to unexpected delays, changing priorities, or operational disruptions.

• Maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor to confirm scheduled work is progressing as expected and established production performance goals are being met.

• Track open production orders from release through completion and work with appropriate teams to keep jobs moving toward required completion dates.

• Review Bills of Material (BOMs) and related production information to verify that material requirements are complete and accurate before manufacturing begins.

• Confirm that required raw materials are available and ready for scheduled production to help prevent unnecessary equipment or production downtime.

• Recognize potential capacity limitations, scheduling conflicts, material concerns, and workflow problems before they impact customer commitments.

• Communicate production or scheduling concerns to the appropriate departments and management personnel and escalate issues when necessary.

• Coordinate with sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and other operational teams to establish priorities for daily production and outgoing customer orders.

• Work closely with production leadership to balance customer requirements against available manufacturing capacity, labor, materials, and equipment.

• Record and distribute daily manufacturing results to provide accurate visibility into completed work and overall production output.

• Maintain current information regarding anticipated completion dates and communicate changes or delays involving full and partial customer orders.

• Act as a point of communication between the manufacturing operation and sales team by providing order updates, responding to general production inquiries, and coordinating approved changes to existing production orders.

• Maintain organized and accurate scheduling records, production documentation, reports, and other information needed by internal teams and applicable external contacts.

• Monitor production information for accuracy and address discrepancies that could affect scheduling, material planning, or customer delivery expectations.

• Assist with additional scheduling, production-planning, reporting, and operational responsibilities as business needs require.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• An Associate's degree in business, management, operations, or a related area of study is preferred but not required.

• Previous experience working within a production, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several responsibilities, deadlines, and changing priorities simultaneously.

• Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, ERP software, and other business or production-management systems.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly share scheduling, production, and order-related information.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with employees and departments throughout a manufacturing operation.

• Dependable team player who can also take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work independently when necessary.

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and following established safety procedures.

• Consistent and reliable attendance record.
