About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Production Planner to help coordinate manufacturing schedules, materials, capacity, and priorities across a busy production environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys figuring out what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and what could prevent it from happening on time. You’ll work across Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations to keep jobs moving and identify potential issues before they affect schedules or customer commitments.

This is more than a scheduling or administrative position—you’ll need to understand how materials, labor, capacity, lead times, and production priorities all interact.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and longer-term production schedules based on demand, priorities, materials, and available capacity.

  • Maintain the master production schedule and adjust priorities as production conditions change.

  • Create, release, and schedule production jobs within the company’s ERP system.

  • Review MRP requirements to identify material shortages, upcoming needs, and potential production constraints.

  • Monitor inventory and material availability and coordinate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to address shortages or delays.

  • Track production progress and adjust schedules when jobs fall behind or priorities change.

  • Coordinate materials, labor, equipment, and available manufacturing capacity to support production requirements.

  • Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them.

  • Monitor job progress throughout the manufacturing process and communicate potential delivery or scheduling concerns.

  • Analyze production and scheduling data and prepare reports related to capacity, inventory, production performance, and schedule adherence.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Operations, and Supply Chain to keep projects aligned.

  • Support process improvements related to production flow, scheduling, inventory, and operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or a similar role.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or project-based production environment.

  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing planning processes.

  • Experience creating and maintaining production schedules.

  • Understanding of material requirements, inventory, lead times, capacity, and production constraints.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and changing production requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience That Could Be Helpful

  • Experience with Epicor or a similar manufacturing ERP system.

  • Engineered-to-order, make-to-order, or other project-based manufacturing experience.

  • Experience working with complex bills of material (BOMs) and material requirements planning.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.

  • Experience supporting complex production environments with multiple concurrent jobs or projects.

Who This Could Be a Great Fit For

The right person will be someone who can look ahead rather than simply react.

You should be comfortable working inside an ERP system and digging into the details, but also comfortable picking up the phone or walking over to Production, Purchasing, Engineering, or Supply Chain to figure out what is really happening.

If you naturally think in terms of priorities, timing, materials, capacity, and keeping production moving, this could be a strong opportunity to take ownership of a critical part of the manufacturing operation.
