    How You Will Make an Impact

    The Production Planner & Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting production plans and schedules to support customer delivery commitments and the efficient utilization of labor, materials, chassis, and production capacity. This position monitors production execution, identifies and escalates risks to the production schedule, and maintains accurate planning information throughout the manufacturing process.

    The Production Planner & Scheduler works cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Customer Service, and Continuous Improvement to support production flow, resolve scheduling constraints, and achieve operational and business objectives.

    The Nuts and Bolts

    • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules and manufacturing orders to support on-time delivery, level available labor, and maintain efficient production flow.
    • Maintain the accuracy of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and/or Build Plan, incorporating production requirements, labor hours, capacity, and operational priorities.
    • Perform capacity planning by evaluating backlog, incoming customer orders, established lead times, labor availability, material availability, and production capacity; coordinate appropriate redating and coding of orders as needed.
    • Track production progress through the value stream daily, identify scheduling constraints or disruptions, and promptly escalate at-risk units, anticipated misses, delays, design changes, and labor or material shortages to Leadership and Customer Service.
    • Serve as the primary planning owner for on-time delivery performance, including monitoring results, identifying risks, conducting root-cause analysis of misses, and coordinating corrective actions with appropriate teams.
    • Manage chassis assignments and upfit scheduling, collaborating with Sales and chassis pool resources to maintain accurate chassis information.
    • Partner with Purchasing, Materials, and Operations to monitor equipment delivery dates, inventory, material, and kit availability and adjust production schedules as necessary.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Service to support production requirements and operational goals.
    • Provide Customer Service with accurate and timely production and scheduling information and coordinate the planning, changing, and advancement of loads in preparation for customer shipment.
    • Monitor backlog holds and workflow releases and incorporate Parts Only customer orders into the production schedule to support on-time delivery commitments.
    • Interpret Bills of Material (BOMs), SKUs, drawings, and related production information to support effective scheduling and production flow.
    • Utilize and maintain accurate information within ERP/MRP, production scheduling, and reporting systems, including JDE, Orchestrator, Excel, Tuitiv, ReportsNow, LMS, and other applicable systems.
    • Participate in relevant production, planning, operational, and cross-functional meetings and calls as required.

    Required Credentials

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, business, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
    • Three (3) to five (5) years of production planning experience
    • Manufacturing industry background experience preferred
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning functions required
