POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to help build and manage manufacturing planning operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, supply chain, or MRP/ERP systems.
The Production Planner will help transition manufacturing planning from spreadsheets to an integrated MRP system and will play a key role in developing production schedules, managing materials, improving inventory planning, and keeping production on schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer needs and manufacturing capacity
- Use ERP/MRP systems to plan materials, production, and inventory
- Help implement and improve manufacturing planning processes
- Configure and maintain planning information such as lead times and safety stock
- Monitor production schedules and address delays or bottlenecks
- Coordinate with purchasing to make sure materials are available when needed
- Review labor, equipment, and production capacity when creating schedules
- Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and planning standards
- Monitor inventory levels and production needs
- Track production performance and schedule adherence
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
- Work closely with production supervisors and management to resolve scheduling issues
- Prepare reports and communicate production status to leadership
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, efficiency, and cost savings
- Follow company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience with a focus on production planning, scheduling, supply chain, logistics, or operations
- Experience using an ERP/MRP system such as SAP, Oracle, Deltek Costpoint, or a similar system
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with inventory planning and production forecasting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust schedules as production needs change
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 12+ years of manufacturing planning experience
- Experience implementing or improving an ERP/MRP planning system
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint Manufacturing
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
- Electronics manufacturing experience
- APICS CPIM certification
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position may require standing and sitting throughout the workday
- Frequent use of hands while working with equipment and materials
- May occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Work environment is indoors, moderately loud, clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated
