    What We re Looking For:
    As a *** Maintenance Planner, you will have the responsibility to promote maximum Maintenance Team effectiveness by planning and scheduling of work and maintenance activities. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager Engineering Facilities & Maintenance, you will also assist with unplanned repairs by identifying resources and obtaining/expediting material(s) necessary to complete tasks.
    Your Job Duties:
    A. Planning Function
    Review work order for legibility, completeness, and job content, taking appropriate corrective action
    Determine job scope and limit conditions by field checks and consultation with both Production and Maintenance supervision
    Review initial job priority and relative status to other work orders before entering it in backlog file in accordance with formal procedures
    Analyze work for methods and craft requirements, issuing sub-orders and maintaining total job coordination responsibility
    Determine required materials, supplies, equipment, tools, drawings, and engineered information
    Initiate procurement using bill of materials and verify their availability before scheduling job
    Prepare detailed estimates using simplified maintenance standards, historical standards and experience-based approximations
    Identify and secure as appropriate, all technical information, simple non-engineered sketches, safety measures, utility requirements, production clearances, etc.
    Complete planning package for work order and review with Maintenance supervision
    B. Scheduling Function
    Determine approximate work order commencement date from priority sequence and through consultation with both Production and Maintenance supervision
    Establish sequence and duration of all craft skills, including sub-order requirements, and prepare tentative timetable that coordinates an entire work order
    Prepare detailed schedule that identifies daily activities, including allowances for emergency work, for all the next week's work orders
    Submit schedule to Maintenance supervision and review in detail
    Review major changes in scope after starting a work order that will require planning changes beyond daily activity and revising the weekly schedule
    Comply with formal procedures to close job after its completion
    Prepare and submit weekly performance reports as a measure of scheduling efficiency
    C. General Functions
    Make independent decisions that minimize downtime and reduce maintenance spend through scheduling of personal, and material and contractor selection
    Maintain necessary records and files that facilitate planning and scheduling and are consistent with basic functions
    Monitor all documentation and formal reports to ensure their accuracy, timeliness, and utility, taking prescribed corrective action
    Provide requested information or submit special exception reports as required by Maintenance supervision
    Complete any other assignments as are consistent with basic function or are requested by the Maintenance Foreman
    Review completed jobs on an exception basis, requesting detailed audit when warranted
    Participate in cost reduction programs by analyzing Maintenance methods and alternative materials
    What You ll Need to Bring to the Table:
    3+ years experience as a Maintenance Planner, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing
    Preferred: 2+ years technical school or equivalent practical training in primary technical field relating to area being served. (i.e., mechanical - Area Maintenance Departments; electrical - Electrical Department; machining - Tool Departments, etc.)
    Strong oral and written communication skills
    Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is a must
    Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organization skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively and be self-directed
    A strong work ethic that includes the ability to work 8 10-hour shifts while sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and lifting
    A positive, adaptable, hard-working, and patient mindset
    RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
    Supervisory Relationships:
    Report to Sr. Mgr. Engineering Facilities & Maintenance
    Organization Relationships:
    Frequent contact with Maintenance supervision
    Has frequent contact with Production Control for scheduling of PM's and communicating status of planned and unplanned repairs
    Frequent contact with Maintenance Staff Services personnel regarding Maintenance Information Systems, P.M. programs, industrial engineering activities, and other staff services
    Frequent contact with Production supervision, especially from area being served on work order information and scheduling
    Frequent contact with Sr. MRO Buyer and MRO personnel, especially on material acquisitions
    Moderate contact with Plant Engineering, especially on projects, elective maintenance jobs, and drawing requirements
    External Business Relationships:
    Has occasional contact with outside vendors, contractors or consultants, especially on equipment installations or modifications and emergency repairs
