We welcome applications from all backgrounds andare open to discussing flexible working arrangements that suit both you and the role.The OpportunityReporting directly to the Production Team Leader, you will work as part of the MiAlgaeProduction Team, contributing towards the successful commercialisation of thecompany's omega-3 product and development of future products.Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, clean-in-place (CIP),Sterilisation-in-place (SIP) and operation of sterilisation equipment and bioreactors. Youwill prepare growth media to standard recipes, seed bioreactors with inoculum, performroutine sampling of product, all while conforming to quality control measures,maintaining records and safety procedures. Production OperatorMiAlgae applies leading advances in science and technology toimprove food security and reduce the impact of humanity onthe planet, combining purpose-driven innovation with apeople-centered culture.1 You will be expected to apply your experience and knowledge proactively to basicmechanical troubleshooting, completing standardised work methods and processes,reporting working progress to other members of the Production Team. The role will require you to work flexibly and tackle problems either as an individual or aspart of a team.Working within a shift patterned production site, you will be expected to work efficiently,conscientiously and under the guidance of Production Team Leaders in order to meettime sensitive deadlines. Key Responsibilities Carry out production site activities, including manufacturing equipment set-up andoperation, CIP / SIP, facility cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment andservices. Promote, adhere to, and actively support safe working practices and the site safetyculture, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with safety policies, riskassessments, and permit-to-work requirementsContribute to the development and improvement of production and quality controlprocedures, carrying out administrative duties including accurate completion of batchrecords, shift reports, and process associated trackers.Monitor, collate and report process outputs and data adhering to gooddocumentation practices.Carry out hygienic manufacturing activities, ensuring food safety standards aremaintained.Support routine site maintenance and be part of a team to ensure productionprocesses continue to run as planned. Be involved in cross-department interactions when required, to facilitate businessimprovement.2 3About You - Experience & QualitiesWe are seeking driven and forward-thinking individuals with a flexible approach towork who are keen to make their mark within a rapidly growing award-winningbiotechnology start-up company.The ideal candidate will be educated to HND level with industrial experience in aproduction (ideally food and beverage manufacturing) facility preferably with practicalknowledge in CIP, pasteurisation, fermentation, filtration, and or centrifugation.You will need a keen eye for detail and be an excellent communicator with the ability towork independently and effectively within shift team. You will have a positive 'can do'approach and a keen interest in the use of biotechnology for the benefit of theenvironment. Essential ExperienceHND level education (or equivalent practical experience) in a relevant field.Minimum 2 years' experience in an industrial production or manufacturingenvironment.Practical experience with production processes such as fermentation, CIP, SIP,pasteurisation, filtration, centrifugation, or similar operations.Experience working safely under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in aregulated production environment.Good problem-solving skills, with ability to understand basic scientific andengineering problems.Ability to work effectively in a team, follow instructions, and communicate clearly.Strong organisational and time management skills to meet shift-based productiondeadlines.DesirableFull, clean driving licence.Familiarity with GLP, GMP or regulated environmentsExperience with basic mechanical troubleshooting or equipment maintenance.Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical sectors.Experience operating a forklift truck and holding a valid FLT licenceInterest in biotechnology or sustainable production processes. 4DetailsLocation: Based at MiAlgae's site in Grangemouth, Falkirk.Employment type: Full-time (shift pattern working including nights).What We OfferCompetitive Compensation: A market-aligned salary (as noted).
