Operations Specialist (Grain Elevator)

Pay Rate: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
Duration: 4-Month Contract

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Operations Specialist to support daily operations at our grain elevator facility in Hazel, MN. Responsibilities

Under general supervision, perform a variety of operational and general labor duties, including:

• Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the facility while complying with company policies and government regulations.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, opening hatches, loosening large nuts, and connecting or disconnecting hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural products from trucks and railcars using various machinery and equipment.
• Monitor and control loadout operations.
• Operate automated scale and dump systems.
• Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities.
• Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, and operational concerns.
• Monitor and maintain inventory quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.
• Perform warehouse duties, including forklift operation, loader operation, inventory handling, and general maintenance.
• Report customer concerns, maintenance issues, and safety hazards promptly.
• Promote and support a strong safety culture.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• At least 1 year of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Agricultural industry experience.
• Experience operating equipment such as:
  • Loaders
  • Conveyors
  • Tractors
  • Track mobile equipment
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasonal periods.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to climb railcars, ladders, stairs, and storage bins.
• Ability to work in dusty environments and varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
