    Job Summary:

    Carmeuse is seeking a Production Manager Trainee. Under the general direction of Senior Management and over the course of the next 18 - 24 months, the Production Manager Trainee will learn the basics of the Minerals Processing Industry. The Management Trainee is mentored to ensure career growth and development is consistent with the opportunity for a bright future with Carmeuse. This is an entry level position, and the candidate must have the ability to relocate based on organizational needs.

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Receives training and performs duties in departments such as Safety, Quality, Operations, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Human Resources, IT, Engineering, etc.
    • Safety- Learn and positively impact safety procedures, participate in safety related activities, observe workforce/workplace and make recommendations as required, review and learn investigative procedures, etc.
    • Quality- Learn and positively impact the Total Quality System, Continuous Improvement System etc.
    • Operations- Learn and positively impact standard operating procedures, root cause analysis, predicative/preventative maintenance, productivity requirements/maximization, material usage, metrics, manage equipment, standard reporting procedures, logistics, etc.
    • Maintenance - learn and positively impact preventative/predicative maintenance system, SAP, work orders, supply procurement, etc.
    • Employee Relations- Learn how to develop/train/mentor employees, understand hourly job responsibilities, participate in disciplinary procedures, direct and assign work, administer the labor contract (as applicable), participate in contract negotiations/grievance meetings, etc. (as applicable), provide negative and positive feedback as appropriate, foster positive workplace, communicate effectively, etc.
    • Adapt to working with different sets of people and in different departments on any given day.
    • Gain as much knowledge of the organization as possible in preparation for a future leadership role.
    • Can locate, interpret and understands Company Policies and Procedures.
    • Observes staff to learn necessary methods and procedures of the Minerals Processing Industry.
    • Involved in maintenance, production, daily/weekly CIMS, safety, and continuous improvement meetings.
    • Participate in annual budgeting process.
    • Be a contributing member to the daily activities of the management team(s).
    • Works with senior management to set goals and objectives.
    • Monitors progress with the help of key personnel.
    • And other duties as assigned by management

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or a related field; relevant internships or equivalent experience are also considered.

    • Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. is a plus.

    • Qualified candidates will exhibit a positive and proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.

    • Good technical aptitude and analytical skills.

    • Detail and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities.

    • Resourceful and well organized.
