    Description

We’re a precision metal fabrication and machining company specializing in laser cutting, machining, and rapid prototyping, and a premier supplier of tooling and components for advanced aerospace programs. We’re headquartered in Emmaus, PA, and our Brownsville, TX facility, DMI-Texas, LLC, is growing. If you want to lead a team whose work helps shape the future of flight and exploration, we want to hear from you.

    About the Role

We’re looking for a Production Manager who came up through sheet metal to run the shop floor at DMI-Texas. This is a sheet metal job shop, and this role requires hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience. You’ll own everything from traveler release to on-time shipment: laser, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly flow, plus scheduling and dispatch, quality, maintenance, safety, and your team. You’ll partner closely with Pre-Production and Sales, and you’ll have real ownership to build a high-performing, multi-shift operation.

Sheet metal experience is required for this role. Applicants without hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience will not be considered.

    Schedule & Location

    Full-time, on-site leadership role overseeing a multi-shift operation at:

    • Brownsville, TX (DMI-Texas, LLC)

    What You’ll Bring

    Required

    • 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment.
    • Laser cutting. Hands-on experience setting up, running, or overseeing fiber laser cutting, including nesting, material utilization, and cut quality.
    • Press brake forming. You understand tooling selection, bend allowances, bend sequencing, and setup, and you can troubleshoot forming problems on the floor.
    • CNC sheet metal equipment. Experience with CNC-controlled fabrication equipment such as CNC press brakes, punch presses, or laser systems, including reading and verifying programs.
    • Welding. Working knowledge of MIG/TIG welding of sheet metal (steel, stainless, aluminum), including distortion control and weld quality.
    • Shop floor leadership. 3+ years supervising a multi-shift sheet metal production team, including floor scheduling and dispatch.
    • Blueprint fluency. You read complex sheet metal drawings, flat patterns, GD&T, and specs with confidence.
    • A quality mindset. Experience with in-process and final inspection, containment, and corrective action on fabricated parts.
    • Maintenance and safety knowledge. You understand maintenance and reliability programs for lasers, brakes, and fabrication equipment, and OSHA compliance.
    • Systems and Lean experience. You use ERP/MRP systems with discipline, and you apply Lean principles to improve how work flows.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with additional sheet metal processes: punching, shearing, rolling, hardware insertion (PEM), deburring, or powder coating
    • Familiarity with nesting or offline programming software
    • CNC machining experience (lathes and mills)
    • Aerospace or AS9100 experience
    • Associate’s degree or higher in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (we also consider equivalent hands-on experience)

    What You’ll Do

    • Run the floor. Keep jobs moving through laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly to hit on-time shipments.
    • Schedule and dispatch. Sequence work across the laser, brakes, and weld cells against the Pre-Production schedule, and report floor changes back quickly.
    • Own quality on the floor. Lead in-process and final inspection (QC reports to you), first-article support, containment, and corrective action.
    • Keep machines running and people safe. Direct maintenance on lasers, press brakes, and fabrication equipment for maximum uptime, and enforce safety and OSHA compliance.
    • Drive Lean. Build and continuously improve standard work across every department, from cutting and forming through shipping.
    • Keep the ERP accurate. Own receiving, staging, and WIP movement, and make sure job, labor, and material transactions are accurate on every shift.
    • Build your team. Hire, train, and develop your leads and 2nd Shift Supervisor, cross-train operators across laser, brake, and weld, and build an accountable culture across shifts.

    How You’ll Be Measured

You’ll own the production numbers on our weekly EOS Scorecard: on-time ship %, rework rate and cost, dollars shipped per hour paid, machine uptime, and safety.

    Compensation & Benefits

Pay is based on your sheet metal and leadership experience. Our benefits include:

    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with 3% company match
