    The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling all manufacturing activities within the plant to ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The role oversees manpower, equipment, materials, quality, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

    POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Production Planning & Scheduling

    • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand and sales forecasts.
    • Coordinate production schedules with Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, and Sales departments.
    • Allocate manpower, machinery, and resources to maximize plant utilization.
    • Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
    • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changing priorities.
    • Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure production capacity meets business growth requirements.

    Operations Management

    • Direct all day-to-day manufacturing operations.
    • Monitor workflow throughout all production stages.
    • Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.

    Team Leadership & Workforce Management

    • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate production personnel.
    • Lead multiple production supervisors
    • Establish departmental goals and performance expectations.
    • Promote teamwork and accountability.
    • Identify training needs and develop employee skills.

    Quality Management

    • Ensure products meet customer specifications.
    • Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams.
    • Investigate quality issues using Root Cause Analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards.

    Safety & Environmental Compliance

    • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the plant.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
    • Investigate workplace accidents and near misses.
    • Implement corrective safety measures.
    • Ensure safe operation of machinery and equipment.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
    • Eliminate waste throughout manufacturing processes.
    • Improve labor productivity.
    • Develop standardized work instructions.

    Inventory & Materials Management

    • Coordinate raw material availability.
    • Monitor production inventory.
    • Ensure accurate inventory transactions.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • 5 10 years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory or management experience.
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality systems.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles is preferred.
