    Description

    The Civil Design CAD Manager (Production Manager) oversees the drafting and design production workflow for land development projects, ensuring high?quality deliverables, consistent standards, and efficient coordination across the design team. This role manages CAD staff, maintains production schedules, enforces drafting standards, and supports project managers and engineers throughout all phases of site development. Key Responsibilities
    • Team Leadership — Supervise, mentor, and support CAD technicians and designers; provide training on Civil 3D workflows and company standards.
    • Production Management — Oversee drafting production for grading, drainage, utilities, and site plans; ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
    • CAD Standards — Develop, maintain, and enforce CAD standards, templates, layers, styles, and file management protocols.
    • Quality Assurance — Conduct detailed QA/QC reviews of plan sets to ensure compliance with agency requirements and internal standards.
    • Workflow Optimization — Implement best practices for Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, and sheet production to improve efficiency.
    • Project Coordination — Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand project needs, allocate resources, and maintain production schedules.
    • Technical Support — Troubleshoot CAD issues, manage software updates, and coordinate with IT on licensing and performance.
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Coordinate with survey, planning, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design data.
    • Construction Document Oversight — Ensure complete, accurate, and agency?ready plan sets including grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and civil details.
    Required Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience in civil drafting/design, with a focus on land development.
    • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (surfaces, grading, corridors, pipe networks, sheet sets).
    • Strong understanding of land development workflows, agency standards, and permitting processes.
    • Demonstrated experience managing CAD staff or leading production teams.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize production needs.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience developing CAD standards and training programs.
    • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Sheet Set Manager, and project management tools.
    • Knowledge of stormwater modeling tools (HydroCAD, HEC?RAS, etc.) is a plus.
    • Experience with BIM/CAD integration or digital design workflows.
